Shankar Dada Zindabad Preview

Shankar Dada Zindabad - Gandhigiri in fun mode

It is time for Gandhigiri inTelugu too as the sequel to the rollicking laughathon Shankar Dada MBBSwith the irresistible Chiranjeevi at the helm is all ready to hit thescreens. Shankar Dada showcased brilliantly the comedy sense and anuanced sensitivity of Chiranjeevi as a likable don ShankarDada.
Along with his sidekick ATM, played with agreeable restraint bySrikanth, the duo won over the masses with their impish and innocentworld view.
The duo will be back in action, but this time giving themcompany (in a larger sense) would be the Father of the Nation. WithGandhiji for company, the duo set out on a voyage of discovery thatleads them to their inner sanctum — that is their heart. This isGandhigiri at its best. The Hidi original acquired a cult status, andthere is no doubt that the Telugu remake too is well on itsway.
Getting across Gandhigir in his inimitable way will beChiranjeevi. In a sense, this role is tailor made for him as it combinesmass appeal and also holds scope for his larger goal of tellingsomething meaningful for the public.
Directed by Prabhu Deva, who iscoming fresh after the success of the Tamil remake of Pokkiri, ShankarDada Zindabad promises to the cap the summer releases with fun as wellas fervour.
Karishma Kotak, who caught the nation’s eye as theKingfisher girl, plays the heroine. She plays the character that VidyaBalan did in the Hindi original. Sadha plays the cute and cuddly rolethat Dia Mirza did. Sayaji Shinde does the role that Boman Irani playedin the original and Raja handles the role that Jimmy Shergill did in theoriginal.
Dilip Prabhavalkar dons the role of Mahatma Gandhi. Thequiet attraction of the movie is a dance sequence canned on Chiru’sbrother Pawan Kalyan.
Prabhu Deva says it was pleasure to work withsuch a wonderful team. Chiru garu is a legend in the industry anddirecting was a privilege, he points out.
Srikanth, who is a fan ofChiru, says that they had great fun acting together. ‘It was such alearning experience’.
Karishma, the svelte lass, is thrilled that herfirst exposure itself is with a big legend of the industry. Sadha ishappy that her role has shaped up so well that it would be a landmark inher career.
Devi Sri Prasad, who tuned in some interesting melodiesfor Shankar Dada MBBS, has attempted something novel and is said to havepulled it off.
Produced under the Gemini Film Circuit banner byRavishankar and Gemini Kiran, the film has created huge expectations. The movie has all the talk of being a big blockbuster.

Nandini blackmailing Pavan Kalyan?

When Power Star Pavan Kalyan's wife Nandini filed a suit in Visakhapatnam court alleging her husband of practising bigamy, media tried to capitalise on it and project Pavan Kalyan in bad light; simply because any gossip would give them a wide readership and viewership.
But inquiries say the marriage between Pavan Kalyan and Nandini broke way back in 1999 itself. They got married in Shiridi on May 17, 1997 in the presence of both their family members and relatives and lived together for sometime. In 1999 Pavan Kalyan sent a legal notice to Nandini seeking divorce stating that their marriage was not consummated. Then she also gave a reply notice ruling out the allegation. Later, Nandini lived at Masab Tank in Hyderabad till 2005 and later returned to Vizag and they never had proper marital relationship.
And in March 2007 Nandini sent a legal notice asking him to respond as to how could he marry another woman when she was not legally divorced for which Pawan Kalyan sent a reply notice again stating that their marriage was not consummated and that Nandini was cultureless and rude in her behaviour.
Though Nandini had no proof of Pavan Kalyan's marriage with Renu Desai, it is evident that she is after his money now. That she is demanding Rs 5 lakh per month from him as compensation clearly shows her greed for money and that she is blackmailing him!

'Chandamamatho Oka Maata Cheppaali' with Tarun as hero

Noted producer Medikonda Muralikrishna is planning a film under the direction of Nagesh Naradasi on the banner of Venkata Ramana Productions with Tarun as hero.
The film was titled as 'Chandamamatho Oka Maata Cheppaali'. It may be recalled here that the producer of the film Medikonda Muralikrishna had earlier produced a blockbuster called 'Narasimha Naidu' under the direction of B Gopal with Balakrishna as hero.
Likewise, the director of the film Nagesh Naradasi was familiar to the Telugu audiences with his recent film 'Sri Satyanarayana Swamy' which run as an average movie.
One had to wait and watch how the combination of a hit producer and an average director with Tarun as hero work out. Presently the story discussions are in progress.

'Takkari' shooting launched

Shooting of 'Takkari', directed by Amma Rajasekhar and produced by Paruchuri Sivaram Prasad on the banner of United Movies with young hero Nithin and 'Tooneegaa… Tooneegaa…' girl of 'Nuvve-Nuvve'-fame, Suhani Kalitha in the lead, was launched at a simple function in Rock Castle Hotel in Hyderabad on June 28 amidst prominent film personalities.
The film would be completed in a single schedule from June 28. There are six songs in the movie and Chakri is scoring music for the film.
Basically, the film will have love as its backdrop. How a boy won the heart of a girl whom he loved is the subject of the film.
Marudhuri Raja is scripting dialogues while Santosh is holding the cinematography, editing is by Gauthamraju and art is by Prakash.
The producer is planning to release the film as a Dasara-gift in October.

Trade Talk: Sivaji Also Slowed Down In Collections

'Sivaji' that banged the world with huge collections in first week has slowed down now in AP. Apart from many theaters, the other theaters are looking scanty for many shows. There is no patronage for this film especially in towns. Lack of proper story line, weak music and poor comedy track made the film dull as per trade analysts. Many are coming to watch the film only to see how well the money is spent in making the film. It is a doubt if distributors come out safely from this investment.
No big film was released in these Sivaji weeks. Vihari is the only film that released with new faces. That failed at box office as none looked towards it. Aata completed 50 days successfully. Dubai Seenu is now running with 50% collections. 'Operation Duryodhana' theatres are deserted.

Rs 8 crore offered for 'Chiruta' in Nizam area

It is a wonder in the Telugu film industry's history. It will definitely remain a record and history in the Telugu film history.
'Chiruta' directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Chalasani Aswanidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies in which Ram Charan Teja, son of Padma Bhushan, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi, is making his debut is getting ready to create new records.
Already the audio companies had helped the film to create a record by offering Rs 1 crore for the audio of a novice's film. Generally the distribution and exhibition rights of the Nizam area would go for Rs 5 crores to Rs 7 crores for the top heroes. That was the top rate so far as per records.
However, it is reliably learnt that the same price for 'Chirutha' has gone up to Rs 8 crore as the distributors and producers are vying to bag the distribution rights.
This is yet another record in the Telugu film industry. If the film is creating records even before its release, what would be the range of this film after its release would be definitely a wonder. Isn't it?

Yana Gupta with Chiranjeevi for a song in SDZ

The box office is gearing up for a thundering roar and publicity. Megastar Chiranjeevi's Shankardada Zindabad is gearing up for release. Shankardada Zindabad is the remake of Lageraho Munnabhai. Lageraho Munnabhai's first version Munnabhai MBBS is also done with Chiranjeevi as Shankardada MBBS. Shankardada MBBS is a good hit.

Naturally the hype surrounding Shankardada Zindabad is very high. Prabhudeva who choreographed excellent numbers for Chiranjeevi in the past is directing this film. Srikanth is playing friend to Chiranjeevi. Karishma Kotak is the heroine. At present, the unit is filming a song in Padmalaya studios.

It is a special song on Chiranjeevi and Yana Gupta (Babuji Jara Dheere fame). Yana Gupta appeared in item numbers in films like Manmadhan, Anniyan, Gharshana etc. Noble is choreographing this song. Audio of the film will release on 4th of July through Aditya Music company. Devisri Prasad composed music. Makers are planning to release the film either on 12th or 19th of July.

Desperate Nandini seeks publicity

After nearly ten years of seperation what makes Nandini, ex-wife of Pawan Kalyan go to the court for alimony? The lady in question chose a perfect time to claim her pound of flesh and was quite successful to an extent in gathering some audience, and getting some moments of attention. To make matters worse TV9 went berserk running a caption that Pawan kalyan fans went into hiding - instead of Nandini and her family.
The love birds apparently fell in love when they were in the training institute and got married even when Nandini was a minor. The marraige went sour soon and Kalyan is supposed to have married again. According to sources, Renu Desai is the third lady in his life.
Get revenge on your ex in this way, it is almost worth breaking up in the first place, seems to be Nandini’s attitude. Cinema Prapancham gatheres info that Nandini’s father Prasad is a not a fair man and always had money on his mind. Known to be a cheat, blackmailer, crook he even maintained a friendship with Lakshmi Parvathi when the latter enticed him with an MLA seat.
The greedy father-in-law favoured his daughter’s demand for divorce and asked Chiranjeevi for an immediate settlement of three crores at that time. When the family didn’t give in, he took his daughter home. It is rumoured that since day one the association didn’t work, a close source tells that Nandini never made an effort to mingle with Kalyan’s family and was always indifferent. Would most of the time stay in her room and order ‘juices’ and constantly would be on the phone speaking to her people. The lady who fell in love with Pawan Kalyan for his qualities ironically started disliking him.
Everyone knows the actor as reserved, moody, emotional and is most often misunderstood and primarily never cares for money. Prasad, seems to know his weakness for sure and has indulged in this mudsling after so many years. The man who had a fishing business had earned lotza money through real estate recently. He has a son too.

“I’ve a lot of dream roles”: Anushka

She came, saw and conquered with Super in Tollywood. The tall, lissome beauty, a yoga teacher with an hour-glass figure and beautiful smile is now doing three projects with all top heroes. Her debut in Tamil opposite Madhavan Rendu was also a hit. Her films in Telugu are Gopichand’s Lakshyam, Balayya’s Okka Magaadu and Nag’s Don. Producers are queuing up to sign her but the actress is busy and selecting films with utmost care. A quick chat with the actress
You are known as a glam girl.
What is your role in “Lakshyam”?
All my previous films focused me as a glam girl but in Lakshyam, I have ample scope to perform. I am thankful to Sri Vasu, my director, for taking extra care in molding my character. I play a student and there is glamour plus peformance for my chracter. It is absolutely nearer to reality with lots of humour. I can even say that my character stands more or less equal to that of the hero.

Other than “Lakshyam”, you are doing with Balakrishnain`Okka Magadu`, Nag ‘Don’ and heroine-oriented movie ‘Arundhati’. What are your experiences with this different set of units?
I can’t tell you anything about ‘Okka Magadu’. My producer-director YVS will take care of that. At the same time I can’t disappoint you. Just a simple answer… my role will have a negative touch but not completely! Coming to ‘Don’, it is a nice role of carefree, fun-loving girl similar to ‘Super’. ‘Arundhati’ is serious film and director. Shyam Prasad Reddy took extra pain to deal with a complicated subject. I am playing a dual role and it is near completion. But, I prefer not to call it a heroine-oriented movie.

Rumour mills were going to town about your affair with Senthil… and the marriage is on the cards. Your comments! I don’t have anything to say. I’m glad that you said that it is a rumour. Senthil and me are good friends. He worked for the film ‘Arundhati’ (as cameraman). That’s all.

How was it working with Gopichand?
He is a perfect gentleman and a complete professional. Our pair looks superb on screen as both of us are tall and the on-screen chemistry in the film has been worked out well.
Your dream roles?
A lot of dream roles. I want to do all types of roles- glamour as well as realistic films.
You were a Yoga teacher. Any Message about Yoga?
A: Yoga itself is a message. We can talk days, months and years about Yoga. But, a workout for ten to fifteen minutes a day speaks volumes about the Art of Mind and Body tuning. It helps me a lot. It is the tonic and it is Amruth for one and all, for all ages and generations.

Your favorite Actresses?
Soundarya, Simran, Jyothika and Kajol

Your favorite Actors?
Hritik Roshan and Abhishek in Bollywood. Chiranjeevi,Pawan kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Gopichand in Tollywood.

Open Letter to Bunny from Priya - New York

Open Letter to Bunny from Priya - New York

Hi Bunny…
My name is Priya alias Chinny from NY. I am writing this email to let you know that I am extremely thankful/impressed for your genuine gestures. I always watch your films because of entertainment, music, and of course for your dance. I've never noticed how different you are from other celebrities until I read your interviews. I was reading one of your interviews that you gave out on your birthday and I was amazed on your part on "giving back" to the society. Since then, I have researched you on every single possible website from google to youtube!!! I live in NY and it really bothers me when my co-workers ridicule India that " It is number one in outsourcing yet 80% of the country is poor". Whenever they state this, I literally go speechless because I really couldn't answer that. I've also read an article, India the Superpower? Think again on Cnn.com which also states the facts about India in regards to the diseases, poor, etc. The last time I've been to India was in 2000.
I moved to USA when I was 12. I know that there is a huge disparity among the middleclass and the poor. Esp. the rich being rich, middle class becoming richer but the poor being poor. Its sad that there are so many celebrities in AP but pays very little attention towards the social causes. This email is to let you know that I am thankful that there are atleast few celebrities like you and chiranjeevi who "walks the talk" instead of "talks the talk". I am not sure if you've already set-up/co-sponsor a foundation where we can donate respective amount to the people with disabilities or whoever needs help!!!. My sincere request is.... please let us know if you plan to indulge into such activities in future. I've always see your movies because of its content but now, i will start watching your movies because of YOU. You've really proved to be a real-hero. To encourage more people in AP to volunteer in helping the poor, we truly need a celebrity who has an appeal such as yourself. I am glad that your using your celebrity status to help the community, to make it a better place. I don't think I've heard of any other telugu celebrity who happens to donate the money that he/she receives through endorsements to the community. Based on my instincts, I can describe you as Cool, Lovable, Practical, and most importantly, Workaholic….telugu lo okka word lo chappalante…”pokiri” lol. I truly support you in terms of your endeavors. Its funny because you’re the only the celebrity that I am writing emails to and someone that I truly admire personally, whom I've never seen/met. Ni laga AP lo andaru help cheste “helpless” ane valle undaru kada.
The most absurd part about this is that I don’t even know if you will ever read this email. Whatever the case is, I really believe in destiny. If it’s destined, you will definitely hear out my appreciation. I really hope you succeed in achieving your goals professionally and personally. By the way, "Who moved my Cheese" by Dr. Spenser Johnson is a great book on Flexibility/adapting to different environments. I look forward to your next movie with the director, Bhaskar.

Ali imitates Chiru, Nag and Balayya

Ali is going great guns. He is starring in a new movie curiously titled ‘Tinnamma, Padukunnama, Tellarinda’. He is playing different characters in the film. The film got underway in Hyderabad on Wedensday. Ali imitated Chiranjeevi from the film Indra and Nag in Mass.He is also going to imitate Balayyaa’s role from Narasimha Naidu. So the film is going to be a family entertainer. Nag who was present at the launching of the film was highly appreciative of Ali’s get up as Mass.
